When it comes to the development of our products and projects, we put our money on PowerBuilder Enterprise with a MAP framework, the software we develop being open in principle to all relational database systems. It is based on a wide range of performance features like
based on development of our own.
Technological basis – for more than 10 years We decided in favor of this development environment in 1992. Initial projects were handled with PB 3, followed for the most part by versions 4, 5, 6, 9 and 10. We’ve been using Pocket PowerBuilder for the mobile sector since 2003. The databases our development is based on included not only Oracle and Sybase ASE but, above all, iAnywhere, MS-SQLServer and In-formix.
Why do we put our money on PowerBuilder?
Programming efficiency The fact that PowerBuilder has been the dominant client-server development tool is due to three key features: productivity, simple operation and openness. PowerBuilder provides us not only with numerous functions but also with client-server features. Flexibility, productivity and speed let us develop our products on a low-cost, timely basis, and our customers get a good price/performance ratio.
Suitable for open systems CWe develop client/server, web and dispersed applications on a PowerBuilder basis. The free choice of a database system lets our customers make the decision and gives us additional market opportunities. With Pocket Powerbilder we serve the mobile sector - PDAs based on WINDOWS mobile 2003 - and with mobileCollect we present a tool for the design of simple applications.
Suitable for large projects Long-term support for our projects is a central concern for us. That presupposes the possibil-ity of constant advances. Projects with a high degree of complexity, broad scale and extensive integration in heterogeneous system landscapes frequently arise in such a context.
Constant advances High productivity and further development are both of central importance to us. That’s why we now use HTML DataWindow for the integration of mail and XML for business communi-cation and system-spanning integration. We are sure Powerbilder will have a secure future and will provide us with new technologies and frameworks such as .NET and J2EE
