mFM is our PDA-based solution for the comprehensive handling of tasks in the field of facility management. The system permits decentralized, barcode-supported management of different activities. Thanks to integration in central systems like ERP and CAFM (computer-aided facility management) a number of handling functions can be dispensed with. The command and control functions are electronically implemented and thus much more flexible - and the timeliness of the information is increased at the same time. 

The primary development aims were:

• the fast transmission of order data between the staff on the job and the service stations, regardless of the location,
• Efficient paperless work with a high degree of automation.

mFM contains the following modules:

• Maintenance and inspection
• Inventory data collection and stocktaking 
• Recording of new facilities
• Inspection and cleaning checks
• Recording of measured values and meter readings
• Inspection rounds by security guards 
• Time and attendance protocols in the customer’s facilities

The mFM infrastructure is designed for multistage synchronization. Communication with the central ERP and CAFM systems is effected via integration in the central mFM module. This module is used to assign tasks and work to the individual members of staff. After synchronization by iAnywhere, these tasks and jobs are transferred to the respective PDAs either directly or by way of a database located in the remote facility; at the same time, the new data altered in the mobile environment are centrally updated in the mFM. Data collection based mainly on barcodes simplifies handling and leads to greater documentation security.
