Detailed Xplorer view
It is possible to specify different systems in Xplorer, respective classes (customers, orders, articles) and their relationships being defined. These descriptions are stored in the database – no programming is required for the mapping of such a system.
Highlights:
- Multiple views
- Navigation path tracing
- Currently set selection criteria
- Direct invoking of configuration and screen design
- Multistage sorting
- Screen areas can be cut in and cut out
Selection possibilities
For every class there is a selection form. Whether the selection is to be optional or obligatory is defined for the individual classes. Not only input fields are available but also list boxes, check boxes, a calendar function, etc.
The user can shape the dialogue, assuming he or she has corresponding authorization. With the “renew dialogue” function all the defined query parameters are transferred to the selection form and implemented in conformity with a standard template. The query form is shaped with the “change dialogue” function (Infomaker).
Tree structure
The classes and their relationships describe the system and are displayed in the form of a tree. The user comfortably navigates his or her way through the entire system via this tree structure. The result quantity can be restricted via further selection in every subordinate class. The display order in the tree structure can be sorted, detailed views being invoked as an object with a double click of the mouse.
List views
For every object there are one or more selection lists. The query results of the active list are transferred to the tree structure for navigation purposes. All the lists can be sorted on a multi-level basis. Such lists can be exported to Excel for further processing. Assuming the user has screen design authorization, these lists can be adapted and new lists added while the programme is running.

Detailed view
Different detailed views can be defined for every object. The next or previous object can be moved to the detailed view via function keys. (screen design possibilities in keeping with the respective authorisation). The screen areas can be changed, and individual areas can be cut in or out.
New: as many as 10 independent reports can be displayed in one detailed view. (technology: Component Reports).
Further processing in Excel
The first time you export a selection list to Excel an Excel folder is set up as a format template and the individual data areas overwritten to make them transparent. The data are then transferred and displayed. Graphics, pivot tables and calculations can be added to the Excel folder and stored. The second time this selection list is exported only the data area in the Excel folder is exchanged and the updating function triggered, the chosen layout being automatically used again.
